Mission

The St. Thomas More Society of Wayne State University Law School encourages and promotes legal education informed by a moral and ethical conscience, and performs community service through fund raising and other events and activities.
History
The St. Thomas More Society was named in honor of the renowned Catholic martyr who served as Lord Chancellor of England under King Henry VIII.  More was martyred in 1535 for "denying" Henry's supremacy over the Church of England.  Before he was beheaded, More proclaimed that he was "the King's good servant, but God's first."  For more about St. Thomas More, please see our Links page.
Organization
The St. Thomas More Society is open to all Wayne State University Law School students who support the Society's mission.  We are organized with a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Members.  Our office is located in Room 1232 in the new Law School building, and our office phone number is (313) 577-6239.  Our Faculty Advisor is Professor John F. Dolan.
